the basis of this agreement between the Kahur\u0101naki Marae Trustees\/Committee and the Wh\u0101nau, using the Marae facilities.<\/p><p class=\"font_8\">\u00a0<\/p><p class=\"font_8\">A specific, wh\u0101nau representative, who will be expected to sign for the keys on the basis<br \/>that the kawa is understood and will be upheld by the wh\u0101nau, is encouraged to read and<br \/>understand the requirements and their responsibilities.<\/p><p class=\"font_8\">\u00a0<\/p><p class=\"font_8\">Once the form is signed then the keys will be handed over.<\/p><p class=\"font_8\">The wh\u0101nau representative will then be taken through the complex and shown where<br \/>everything is. It is the responsibility of the whanau representative to ensure the complex is<br \/>handed back to the marae in the same condition as found.<\/p><p class=\"font_8\">\u00a0<\/p><p class=\"font_8\">Damages must be reported<\/p><p class=\"font_8\">\u00a0<\/p><p class=\"font_8\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Tikanga = Customs<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p class=\"font_8\">\u00a0<\/p><p class=\"font_8\">The tikanga for this marae is from Te Rangikoianake, Te Whatui\u0101piti and Ngati Kahungunu. These can be interpreted in many ways but for the purposes of using the Kahur\u0101naki Marae facilities, the following must be understood.<br \/><br \/><\/p><ol><li><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5); color: var(--ast-global-color-3);\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong> Rangatiratanga.<\/strong><\/span> &#8211; Respect everything on the marae because it is the whanau, hap\u016b <\/span>and taonga. The appointed Trustees have the ultimate legal responsibility for the activities conducted on this marae. Appreciate what you have. you have chosen to represent your whanau by accepting the keys.<\/li><li><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5); color: var(--ast-global-color-3);\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Wairuatanga.<\/span><\/strong> &#8211; Spirituality is the essence of being at the marae. Karakia, tapu and <\/span>noa are inherent elements of usage. Have a Kaum\u0101tua\/Kuia, someone to advise you<br \/>in this area.<\/li><li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Wh\u0101naungatanga.<\/strong><\/span> &#8211; Relationships bound in history and blood. Ensure the whanau<br \/>understand the tikanga and kawa of our marae. You are expected to keep clean and<br \/>maintain the facilities during use.<\/li><li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Manaakitanga.<\/strong><\/span> &#8211; Hospitality and caring within your means. Your guests should be<br \/>aware of the tikanga and kawa of our marae. Reciprocity drives how and what<br \/><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5); color: var(--ast-global-color-3);\">assistance your whanau will receive.<\/span><\/li><li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Kotahitanga.<\/span> <\/strong>&#8211; Unity of purpose and being aware of all the marae stands for.<\/li><\/ol><p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Kawa = Etiquette.<\/span><\/strong><\/p><p><br \/>These kawa will ensure the marae is operated safely and within the realms of accepted<br \/>behaviour. The following is to be maintained:<\/p><ul><li class=\"font_8\">\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Gang Regalia:<\/strong><\/span> Gang regalia or Patches are not to be worn on Marae grounds or in<br \/>the Urup\u0101.<\/li><li class=\"font_8\">\u00a0<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Drugs:<\/span><\/strong> No drugs are to be used on the Marae grounds, or in the urup\u0101.<\/li><li class=\"font_8\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Smoking:<\/span><\/strong> There are designated areas for smoking and vaping.<\/li><li class=\"font_8\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Alcohol:<\/span><\/strong> Alcohol is not to be consumed in the Marae grounds, except in the dining<br \/>room and k\u0101uta during the hours agreed.<br \/>All drinking is to be managed and supervised to ensure the protection of the whanau<br \/>and the complex.<\/li><li class=\"font_8\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Urup\u0101:<\/span> <\/strong>Alcohol is not to be consumed in the urupa<\/li><li class=\"font_8\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Photos:<\/span><\/strong> Photos for commercial gain are not to be used without permission<\/li><li class=\"font_8\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Covid 19:<\/span><\/strong> Health and safety regarding Covid is the responsibility of the host whanau.<br \/>Protective measures must be followed if determined by the authorities. The marae<br \/>have masks, sanitiser and RATs tests to ensure whanau are kept safe.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Te Tautoko = Support<\/span><\/strong><\/p><p><br \/>To Book the Marae:<\/p><ul><li class=\"font_8\">Email Booking person at sunnybank204@gmail.com,<\/li><li class=\"font_8\">Your request will provide dates of: your booking, kaupapa and whakapapa to Kahur\u0101naki.<\/li><li class=\"font_8\">The booking person will contact you.<\/li><li class=\"font_8\">Your request and information will be presented to the trustees for approval.<\/li><li class=\"font_8\">You will be notified if your booking has been accepted\/declined. Any request will be<br \/>forwarded to the Trustees for approval if it falls outside their monthly hui.\u00a0<\/li><li class=\"font_8\"><strong>Website Booking:<\/strong> Bookings can be made via the Kahur\u0101naki website booking facility<br \/>at <a href=\"https:\/\/kahuranaki.com\">www.kahuranaki.com<\/a>. The booking person will then respond to your request.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Te Utu = Cost<\/span><\/strong><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Wh\u0101nau<\/strong><\/span><\/p><ul><li><strong>Bond\/ Booking fee:<\/strong> A bond of $200 and booking fee of $50 must be paid to the<br \/>Marae to confirm booking, within one week of telephone\/email confirmation. This<br \/>will secure your dates. The booking fee is non-refundable. The bond is refundable<br \/>once the complex is fully cleaned, sheets back, rubbish away, everything stacked<br \/>where they should be, if not the bond will be retained.<\/li><li><strong>Rate:<\/strong> Full Marae hire for whanau groups is $250.00 (gst incl) per 24 hours i.e. Friday<br \/>4pm to Sunday 4pm $500.00. This gives the whanau access to cooking, eating,<br \/>washing and sleeping facilities. Note: In the event of a Tangihana, you will be<br \/>refunded any monies paid that relate to time not used due to your whanau vacating<br \/>the marae.<\/li><li><strong>Tangihanga rate is a koha.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Part Hire:<\/strong> $50 per hour. Where accommodation or the full marae facilities are not<br \/>required, an hourly rate of $50 shall prevail subject to what facilities are being used.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Corporate<\/span><\/strong><\/p><ul><li><strong>Bond\/ Booking fee:<\/strong> A bond of $200 and booking fee of $50 must be paid to the<br \/>Marae to confirm booking, within one week of telephone\/email confirmation. If you do not know, please<br \/>ask.<\/li><li>The flag is to be raised for all hui and guidance should be sought from kaum\u0101tua.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">During your stay<\/span><\/strong><\/p><ul><li>The wharenui is to be vacuumed daily and windows opened to air.<\/li><li>Mattresses and pillows are stacked neat and tidy during the day<\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Your last day<\/strong><\/span><\/p><ul><li>Return all pillows and mattresses to the storage area. Stacked neatly.<\/li><li>Remove, and count all marae linen. These are dry cleaned or laundered, ironed and<br \/>returned to the Marae. This is at the user\u2019s expense.<\/li><li>Stack black chairs neatly and leave by door on the left hand side as you enter the<br \/>wharenui. <strong>DO NOT<\/strong> remove these seats from the wharenui.<\/li><li>Vacuum the wharenui and empty the cleaner.<\/li><li>Remove any rubbish to the bin for removal from site.<\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Te Wharekai- Te Whakaahu<\/span><\/p><ul><li><strong>Tables:<\/strong> Are stacked neatly to the left of main door heading out to Wharenui<br \/>Note: white plastic ones are stacked together and brown ones are stacked close to<br \/>the wall. <strong>PLEASE DO NOT<\/strong> stack tables hard against the wall.<\/li><li><strong>Chairs:<\/strong> these are stacked neatly to the right of main door heading out to Wharenui<\/li><li><strong>Wharekai floor:<\/strong> Sweep floor, and mop with hot soapy water. Leave clean and dry.<\/li><li><strong>Close all windows upon departure<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Wharekai kitchen<\/strong><\/span><\/p><ul><li><strong>Crockery and cutlery:<\/strong> returned to correct storage areas.<\/li><li><strong>Pots:<\/strong> Cleaned and scrubbed after use<\/li><li><strong>Fridges:<\/strong> Remove all food from the fridge. Fridge must be washed and cleaned out.<br \/>The door are to be left slightly ajar upon leaving.<\/li><li><strong>Chiller:<\/strong> Turn off chiller via external switch. Remove food and clean all racks.<\/li><li>Mop chiller floor, leave doors ajar and leave to dry. Turn off on departure<\/li><li><strong>Cooker<\/strong> &#8211; Low pressure cooker, gas supplied by marae,<br \/>high pressure gas cooker at the back, you must fill the<br \/>bottle or use your own 9kg.<\/li><li><strong>Roaster<\/strong> \u2013 you supply the 9 kg gas bottle to operate.<\/li><\/ol><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">General<\/span><\/p><ol><li><strong>Rubbish<\/strong>&#8211; You provide rubbish bags and remove all of<br \/>your rubbish from the Marae complex on departure.<\/li><li><strong>Hangi area<\/strong> \u2013 You need to provide stones, wood,<br \/>baskets etc.<br \/>Hangi area is not a rubbish burn and is to be left clean.<\/li><li><strong>Gas<\/strong> \u2013 there is a mains supply for the hot water<br \/>califonts and the gas inside for the oven and outside in<br \/>the kauta is a low pressure cooker.<br \/>Check gas bottles are full. (Should not be red)<\/li><li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Under NO circumstances are any items to be removed<\/strong><\/span><br \/><span style=\"text-decoration:
